That would make almost no difference, even with passing. It’s literally the almost same output as the 1.3L, the 1.5L has about 25 ft/lbs tq, even less when comparing hp. V6’s and V8’s only offer the best performance efficiency ratio when paired together with a heavier vehicle. Yet the interior upgrade – NOPE, well if GM open sourced their infotainment and interior controls, I would be . Let your sister buy the car she would like, you have no skin in the game…. Again, really, no anger here ! A downsized three-cylinder engine theoretically improves fuel economy, but the Trailblazer's mpg ratings aren't much better than many four-cylinder rivals. I own a 2017 Buick Encore AWD with the 1.4t. It is just not a vehicle for everyone and that is why there are so many offered on the market. Can you GM people here, that say the down CC of engines again tell me why the Full-size GM isn’t running the 3.6TT in its entire lineup ? 9.4 sec. Why do you think all the sedans in the US are foreign ? Car and Driver basically said the Trailblazer is anemic in terms of acceleration. The CVT really does a nice job at helping those engines be in that sweet spot and when you get on them you can’t even tell it’s a CVT. I just can’t believe it wouldn’t be flying out the doors ! I get it that GM can no longer compete in the USA with anything under full-size. I’ve driven both engines and both are more that adequate. Especially on the interstate at 75-80 mph on trips. People buy these because they are more affordable and MPG is more important the 1/4 mile times. The overwhelming posts with any of these articles about the TB/GX is generally not in favor of the two 3-cylinders. I pulled over 50 mpg at times with my 16 Malibu with the 1.5 turbo, it would actually be more real world fuel efficient with the 1.5 four cylinder, rather than huffing and puffing with the asthmatic 3 popper that’s working too hard all the time. You’ll get better fuel economy and more power. Year after year, it’s the same old GM. I see the 3 cylinders are holding down the emissions average up the mpg corporate average so more V8 trucks and Cars can be sold. Heavier vehicles. Stab the gas pedal you’ll endure an aggravating pause until the turbo delivers its boost. The Trailblazer's fuel economy only barely exceeds that of the one-size-smaller Trax, which is fully subcompact and comes with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and theoretically should be the smallest and lightest of the bunch, and therefore the most efficient. Chevrolet's small crossovers seem to offer increasingly better fuel economy the larger they get (or at least they don't get worse), which seems backwards. And you should look up the word loyal, I used to post it once in a while to remind GM reps here what it means. Some hits anda ton of misses. They want to keep the desirable engines scarce and make you pony up big time if you hold out for it. Engine: three-cylinder, 155 horsepower, 174 lb-ft. of torque. Oh, your endless lies and incessant whining. There is a smaller 3-cylinder available, but it comes with the CVT. It replaced a 2014 Equinox which always felt that was under powered. In short, we expected better from the Trailblazer's unconventional three-cylinder engine lineup—although for its class, it delivers entirely conventional fuel economy. The 1.3L Turbo in the TB has more power than the 1.4T in the Trax, Encore, Cruze and Sonic. its just the way I type and emphasize, CLEARLY working as it gets the replies, Ha Ha. I even wrote an E-Mail back to GMC, of course we all know where that went ( waste of time ), stating do you know you have a Ford employees signature on your GMC mailings !!! AND I’m saying this and I have a 2.0L turbo AWD. The interior is GREAT for this level of vehicle ! Just one more example of GM getting the vehicle jjjuuuuuusssstttt about perfect then cheap, cheap, cheap ! It’s actually quite responsive and its always in the right gear. Everyone in the comments complaining about a 3cyl engine is ridiculous. Even less on the horsepower end unless. And they owned 3 Corvette ! Not only were they underpowered especially the 1.2, both were loud. What is GM #1 on in the USA ? That is my 2 cents. But don’t knock it till you drive it. The definition of insanity… per car and driver, an over 10 second 0-60 rolling start time, that is unacceptable. And while the 1.3L has been the preferred 2021 Chevy Trailblazer engine choice, but the split is now roughly 70-30. So what? LifelongGM owner, NOBODY wants a small block V8 in this Trail Blazer ! If GM took those V8 options out and replaced them with the MORE EFFICIENT DOHC V6s, and tried to convince the ” Real Customer ” this is just as good, GM would be DONE again !!! Never knew what a milestone car … Meanwhile, the 1.2L is generally offered only on cheaper models, and never with AWD. Just me. La folie des VUS pousse les constructeurs à varier les modèles, histoire d’atteindre tous les consommateurs. … Have a great day ! H4cksaw you are correct. Straight 5’s outperforming V6’s, V8’s doing the same to 10’s and so on. IMO the 1.6 in the base Malibu around 180hp with the 155hp 3 cly as a base is a good upgrade for TB but again not many care about hp in this segment. And again, the EV will help this as for power, yet the buyer of this vehicle is not an EV buyer in majority YET !
